#WALK OF HOPE CONGRATULATION MESSAGE FROM AMB. ABDIKADIR ADEN HSC

I wish to personally congratulate Mr.Salah Abdi Sheikh, Abdikalif Adan, Haji Omaarey Osman, Noordin Badel Tube, Ali AwDoll, Ahmednadhir Omar and the entire team for their courage and faith for being a beacon of Hope to the People of North Eastern Province. The long walk of Hope has finally come to an end. Bringing together different personalities with different backgrounds, counties, languages, fraternity and many more. The men and women who started their journey from Tana Bridge in Garissa have and ended their journey at Mandera Border Point 1. They have sacrificed more than what a human being could offer not even a walk in the Sahara Desert. It has never been a coincidence but walking at times when the region was faced by insecurity related challenges, educational crisis, The Holy Month of Ramadhan and a time when there are plans of reopening Garissa University College. This is just the beginning of these hopes. I understand it has been a tough destiny. The dusty long days and the dark scary nights; you must be all extraordinary. You have planted seeds of hope and inspirations to the young, old and upcoming generations.

We are the future of this great nation. Kindly acknowledge my heartfelt congratulations. I welcome each and everyone back home as Heroes. We celebrate you and we all salute you.

REPLY TO ABDULLAHI DERROW ARTICLE ABOUT MY LOVELY MUM

Like a strong building needs a strong pillar you always need someone to support you; I have never known a stronger pillar than my Mum. Whenever the cloud of stress loomed, whenever the shadow of sadness waved, whenever tears reached my eyelids, whenever my lonely heart was worried my Mum has never hesitated to ask, what is not right, she is what keeps me living, she adds sweetness to my life and she always makes me fall in love with life. Everyone has a little bit of sorrow, everyone has a little bit of sunshine my Mum would always shield me from any kind of sorrow and would always smilingly watch the ray hope beaming on my face. She is a symbol if sacrifice!

For, every good reason my eyes are wet while reading this beautiful story written by this generous friend about my ‪#‎Mother‬, I don't have words to thank you brother Abdullahi Derow.

This proves how humane you are, by appreciating her you earn yourself a place in her heart. I will sure share this story with her. You simply described her the best! You made your mother Mama Mana Haji Kalla Dido proud by penning about her best friend.

May Allah bless you!

ARTYICLE PREPARED BY ABDULLAHI DERROW ABOUT MY MUM VOLUNTEER HISTORY

Mama Halima Haji Abdullah Mohamed Jari (Popularly known as Ale Diqo).

A lot of time I find it very difficult to write about selfless individuals back home. Tonight I must however write a little about this beautifully created mother.

Ale Diqo is a model of strength and generosity, she is one most generous, kind - hearted spirit I have ever known, she is indeed a mother who everyone wish to have as a mum in every life, fortunate is the son who calls her mum. As a long time neighbour she watched me growing up in front of her eyes, I remember how mischievous one me is but every time I commit some mistakes(dropping stones on her house and I understand how noisy a "Mabati" is when even a drop of rain drops on it. what about El-wak ' s heavy stones? ) she would find it very easy in her heart to forgive me, she never complained against me or has she ever reported me to my parents. Off-course I will never forget tell how I cried one Sunday morning upon seeing her sitting with my mum in our home, thinking that she came to report me to my parents because I teased a girl who was under her guardian the day before that Sunday(probably that girl is happily married now with five children if not more). I still don't know why she opted to cover up my mistake, perhaps her motherly instincts prevented her, or perhaps my tears sent a sign of guilt and repentance to her heart . She is a bank of secrecy!

My interaction with Mama Ale Diqo in late 2014 inspired me a lot. When her own son Abdikalif Adan presented to me an idea of environment conservation which gave birth to Nomad Green Belt movement she didn't think for a second, she hurriedly joined the idea giving us moral and material support without her effort Nomad Green Belt movement would have been a dream waiting for its time.

She started by providing a tiny nursery space inside her plot, watered the seedlings, protected the seedlings from street goats (kunuunos ), fuelled the vehicle we used in our first project and up-to now she is taking care of more 2000 seedlings in her plot, she is the only woman who believes in a healthy environment and committed in Greening Mandera county and by extension the whole world. She is the backbone of Nomad Green Belt movement.

Mama Ale Diqo is part part of women for peace, she religiously believes in peaceful coexistence between communities in Mandera county. She is independent thinker who always finds times to vist girls schools to give motivational talks and advice young girls so that will grow up to become respectable young women.

Mama Ale Diqo is a God gift human to humanity! I celebrate her.

We therefore inform well wishers and community leaders to strongly unite for this development. In view of this, we decided to chip in by establishing a Modern school library for Buruburu day Secondary School located at boarder point one(BP1), was started in 2010 & currently has student population of 480. The school principal is very hard working and has managed to make the school a top performer in National Examination despite the poor infrastructure. The school urgently needs a new administration block, fencing, laboratory, dinning hall, toilets, piped water and more class rooms.

Kindly participate in kind and cash through;
1. Donations of hardware materials; cement, sand, stones etc
2. Donation of ksh. 1,000 and above.
3. Creation of awareness towards this noble campaign.
4. Join on the material day to break the ground and help in building.

This noble mission is geared towards tapping the unexplored resources within the communities reach to bring meaningful change in the society.

The ‪#‎Walk‬ of hope believes that a strong community is a good place to live; work and library contribute to a better quality of life. We therefore encourage and inform well wishers to support this significant initiative.
